Galatians
We cared so much for you that we were pleased to share with you not only the gospel of God but also our own lives, because you had become dear to us.
- 1 Thessalonians 2:8 CSB
The Lord's Day gathering with worship, preaching, and the Lord's Supper is Sunday morning at 10:00 am and lasts about an hour and a half. Wednesday Theology Discussion and Fellowship is at 6:30 pm. See our Services page for more information.
We are located at 1001 Monarch St. Suite B50 in the Beaumont Circle area of Lexington, Kentucky. We have plenty of off street parking and are wheelchair accessible. Get a map and directions on our Location page.
Our worship liturgy includes corporate singing and prayer, partaking of the Lord's Supper, and the recitation of scripture, creeds, catechisms, and confessions. We sing both modern worship songs and classic hymns which contain sound theological lyrics. Our small worship band includes guitar, bass, cajon, and vocalists. You can learn more about how our service is structured on our Liturgy page.
We spend about 30-40 minutes hearing the Word of God proclaimed, typically through consecutive exposition with an emphasis on proclaiming the gospel. Our pace through a book varies from a verse or 2 at a time to an entire chapter. You can listen to earlier teaching on our Sermons page.
Come as casually or as formally as you like. We only ask that you demonstrate respect for the Lord and for others in your choice of attire.
We believe there is value in children seeing their parents worship the Lord together with the rest of the body of Christ, so they remain in the service. We have materials available to occupy their hands. We also have a staffed nursery and a closed room with a live feed that parents may use.
And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread, and to prayer.
- Acts 2:42 CSB
A reformed baptist church subscribing to the 1689 Second London Confession of Faith. We are located in the heart of the bluegrass region in Lexington, KY. We believe the gospel of Jesus Christ to be the reforming truth—the only truth able to reform us into the image of our Savior. Our desire is to be continually reformed by this truth which is contained in the Holy Scriptures, which is the final authority for all faith and practice. The primary means by which we know and experience the truth of the Scriptures is through the ordinary means of grace: The preaching of the Word, the administration of the sacraments (Baptism and the Lord’s Supper), and prayer. We welcome you to join us in this process.
In concert with the historical church, we use a robust liturgy with many corporate elements such as signing, reciting scripture, and corporate prayer. Our liturgy is designed so that the entire service is a Gospel presentation. Learn more on our Liturgy page.
We acknowledge the importance and primacy of the ordinary means of grace in the local gathering of the church, so we emphasize the preaching of the Word of God, praying together, and weekly celebration of the Lord’s Supper.
The church requires regular instruction in the fundamental tenets of the faith, therefore, we include regular recitation of creeds, confessions, and catechisms in our service alongside the preaching of the Holy Scriptures.
The Gospel is not only for unbelievers. The church also needs the regular proclamation of the Gospel. Every week, you will hear proclaimed the grace of God through the finished work of Christ through our entire service, from the structure to the sermon and the Lord’s Supper.
The Scriptures are the only sufficient, certain, and infallible rule of saving knowledge, faith, and obedience. So we exposit the scriptures every week, generally using consecutive exposition and orienting the passage within the flow of redemptive history.
Christ has accomplished our salvation and given us all we need for life and godliness. In our service, we maintain a clear law/gospel distinction, highlighting all that Christ has done for us and that we should rest in the sufficiency of his gracious work.
In light of all that we have been given is Christ, our worship and our obedience arise out of gratitude and thanksgiving. We have been blessed with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places, so we desire to please our Lord.
We take the Gospel of Christ seriously, but we don’t take ourselves too seriously. We know that everything we have is from Christ. While our service is structured, the atmosphere is relaxed and easygoing.
Because we know that our presence in the family of God is solely based on the work of Christ, we are welcoming to all. We place a high priority on genuine friendship and love for one another.
